In the Zeeland traditional costume of Walcheren, smocking was often applied along the neck. The ladies who wore this costume wore nothing but this dress and therefore wore a (often) self-smocked beukje for every day (the beukje is the part of the Walcheren traditional costume that covers the bosom).
